Gift Guide 2020 For Knitters and Crocheters Alike!
Having a hard time pin pointing the perfect gift for your favorite maker? (even if that favorite maker is yourself?)
Here are some of my favorite tools, patterns, and notions for crafting, all wrapped up in this handy maker gift guide! Click the picture to go to the site.
Chiaogoo Interchangeable Knitting Needle Set $141
I personally own this set and it is a GAME CHANGER. You will never have to run to the craft store to buy another set of needles because your arsenal will be massive with this set. I have used many different types of interchangeable needles and this brand is my favorite!
See below for the less complete, cheaper set. If you find yourself never knitting past a size 8 (US), then that set is for you!
Chiaogoo Interchangeable Knitting Needle Set $89
This set has fewer needles, sizes 2 - 8 (US) to be exact. You will love this interchangeable knitting needle set, it will make life a lot easier! I have used many different types of interchangeable needles and this brand is my favorite!
Yarn Swift $17.99
This is the swift that I use to hold hanks while I wind them into cakes and it is awesome! I bought it because I wanted something inexpensive, lightweight, and easy to store (tiny house style!).
Stanwood Yarn Ball Winder $73
This is seriously the last winder you will ever need to buy. I know it’s expensive, but overall it’s better to spend the money now rather than spend $40 every two years to replace that plastic piece of crap you own now.
Project Bags: Trust me, you need a couple different types.
For the quick traveler: $96
This amazing backpack/shoulder purse is perfect for carting projects around in multiple ways. It’s handmade in Portland Oregon from the swanky dyer behind Ritual Dyes.
Namaste Maker’s Backpack $150
Are you a knitwear designer? You need this bag. Read my blog post about it here.
This bag has pockets and widgets for EVERYTHING.
Smaller Bags are vital for differentiating multiple projects:
Songbird Handmade Drawstring Bag. $30
These bags are perfect for smaller projects, such as socks, hats, and lacework shawls.
Knitting needle Organizer $63
This is literally a LIFE SAVER. You never realize just how badly you need one of these until you know it exists! Step aside flower vase full of disorganized knitting needles, a new sheriff is in town!
Books
Modern Crochet $23
This book will make any crocheter swoon with joy! Featuring simple patterns packed with style, Theresa has totally dominated the modern crochet game with her beautiful book: Modern Crochet.
I preordered this book because I knew it was going to be excellent and I was 1,000% correct.
Maker Apparel
Happy Hookers Tee $26
What’s not to love?
Knitflix Crop Sweater $38
It’s a crop! It’s a sweater! It’s a great way to relevantly show your love for knitting!
Stitches Be Crazy Pullover $35
Go support my incredible pal Daniella! Her stitch markers are intensely charming, that’s how cute they are. So make sure to peek through those as well! ;)
Chains and Wips Excite Me Tee $25
This top is so cheeky, it’s hard to look away!
My Favorite Budget DK Yarns:
Cloudborn Superwash Merino $13
This yarn is classified as “worsted” but it knits up like the perfect DK. I loved using it for my DK Sanguine Sweater Pattern.
Cascade 220 Pure Wool $10.50
Shockingly this yarn is classified as a size 4, but I love to use it for DK sweaters.
This yarn is extremely cost effective, blocks like a dream, and isn’t scratchy like a lot of wool yarns that are cringy to the touch.
PLUS it comes in SOO many colors!
